Hello Journal,
I’m not really sure how this is supposed to work but I hope that you are able to get through this with me. Today, I finally figured out what I wanted to focus my project on. While in England this summer I was about to get to see how the world was being affected by the effect that cyber bullying really took on each and every teenager not only within America and London but in places of Ireland and Spain as well. I can see that it a national epidemic and I’m hoping that my small idea can make even the slightest change in someone life. So for my project I firstly would like to start a group with a few girls from all of the state of Connecticut called Teens United for Change, we will focus on having people pledge to stand against bullying and swear to live their life as an allie as well as this project I will release three sets of videos that focus on the stand against bullying. My first video will premiere in December, my second in the third week of February and the last video to premiere in the third week of March.

Today I sent out emails to different people that I think could really help me make the best of my project. I kindly asked if they would consider being my mentor and assisting me with any things that I may need help with while doing this project. I really hope that I can change the views of even just one person, then I would know that this was all worth it.

I got my first rejection, they told me that my project is a wonderful idea and that I shouldn’t give up but at this time they are unable to help me. It a huge bummer but I won’t let it get to me. I was talking to my old film teacher from camp and he was telling me about a director that is from Connecticut who has a new well known TV called Teen Wolf. He was able to get his email but I’m nervous to email him. I really don’t want him to say no. Here goes nothing I guess

It’s been a week later and I still haven’t heard back from Jeff or the other 3 people that have yet to reply. I’m getting worried. I just want one person to agree to help me and I would feel a lot better about this entire project. Yesterday however I talked with Mr. Stanberry about how people are able to create story boards for public service announcements. After our meeting I have brainstorm together a few different ideas on what I plan on doing with the kids. I also have been talking with two friends from my town’s high school about them becoming members of Teens as Teachers and being able to continue advocating after I present in front of a group of students.

Today I did a mock presentation of what I will be presenting to student across Connecticut. I got in contact with some people I know that have great stories that I know can really change a person’s point of view, they told me that they would think able it which is a great step forwards. My panel gave me some feedback on what they think I should keep and take away. The panel includes my parents and siblings. I think I’m going to ask Mr. Standberry to my mentor since he has done so much to help so far while working on my project.

As of today, Teens United for Change has a total of 10 new members that range from schools as far as Danbury. I really proud of myself, so let’s give a round of applause to me. We had our very first meeting today at Starbucks, and these girls really are amazing. Over the course of the school you I have given each member a challenge, I even have chosen to challenge myself, up until February, the release of to get 50 signed pledges from kids at their local high schools as well as their surrounding areas. I’m hoping that we will be able to get at least 500 signed pledges by the end if the school year. I’m currently looking around for my mentor so if you see anyone who’s a perfect match let me know. Until next time see you soon.

Mrs. Fink called me during capstone to discuss what’s was going on with my project. I explained to her the idea that I have floating through my head as well as showing her some sketched story boards that I have. She said that everything looks good and that I should contact more people in being my mentors. She asked how this project is making me feel, to be honest I’m extremely stressed out. I want this project to be a success and if it doesn’t change lives does that mean I won’t graduate. This project makes me nervous that I won’t be able to get anything done and get into these schools.

I called upon some friends that go to AMDA’s to see if they would mind taking a train from New York to Connecticut so I can film them in my video. They said it might be a long shot but they would let me know what they can do. In the meantime, I have also asked some friend’s from my video production class if they would mind helping me. My teacher even offered to give anyone who helps a bit of extra credit.

Hey Journal,
Guess what! I got a mentor, not one but two! After talking with a man named Jeff Davis, you may know him from being the director of Teen Wolf; he has agreed to answer any comments or concerns that I may come in contact with filming. It’s that awesome, I mean half of everyone I know loves his work. I’m really excited and proud of myself, I spent all last weekend calling MTV and getting in connect with his old high school and college. Did you know he was from Connecticut? Any who, now that I have him at the tip of my fingers I can now start filming. With the new season starting for him, I also enlisted the help of Mr. Anthony Crisis who told me today that he would be glad to help spread the word of my very first video. I extremely excited and I can’t wait to see how we move forward.

I had a Skype chat with Jeff today, it was incredible, I let him know how much I have enjoyed his work over the years and I was shocked to find out that he grew up in Connecticut. He let me know that he has since relocated to California because of his recent success in Teen Wolf. He informed me that anything that I may need help with I should shoot him an email and he will try his best to answer my project.October 17th, 2013
I talked with my friends from AMDA’s and they told me they won’t be able to help. This is possible the worst news I have heard while doing this project. It’s actually making me quiet upset, time is ticking and I need things to be finished.

I sent out an email asking the senior class to help me, I hope they respond because I need help with getting my project together. How am I supposed to pass this project if I don’t have people who are willing to become involved? I kind of wish I did a project the was purely based on donating and delivering. I feel defeated right now when I look at the progress of some of my friends.

Not one person replied to my email. It’s frustrating that no one is coming forward. This is one reason why I don’t participate with any school activities. One of the thing that I hate about this project is I have to rely on people. As human being we encounter a number of people who will let us down and I feel like I have had my fair share of it.

Do you ever feel overwhelmed to the point of no return as of right now with school and this project on my shoulders I really don’t know what I’m going to do. I don’t want to complain to any of the capstone advisors because in the end this project and graduation falls on my shoulders.

Today i meet with the leaders of SMSA GSA club. I discussed with them the video that i would be showing to their group of kids. They explained to me that I will only be allowed 10 minutes to discuss my project and the idea of what we do. I wish i had more time but that's fine i guess.
December 2nd, 2013
Today i presented in front of the kids of SMSA. I can say that it was really fun. I had some trouble with my video flashing but overall it was great seeing them viewing. I have to admit i can see how being a teacher can be frustrating when kids don't pay attention to something your passionate about but it was still an okay day all in all.

I just finished meeting with the leaders of the GSA meeting and they asked me to come again and work with their members. I'm glad that the kids like my video so much that they would like to invite me back. It was a humbling experience to know that I could impact another persons view.
